I saw the ring on your finger in the video..didn't notice if you had one in your nose..

Getting back on topic...I'll give the "arbor press" idea with your "die" idea a test some day soon.I want to try a similar stove idea for "dual burn" use.

That's the main reason I posted the stove. I think that there may be some untapped potential of shaping the upper half of the bottle. Best wishes and remembere the WD 40 :DB:

Very cool stove. Gotta make me one of these.

The way I see it, the center vent not only provides internal priming but also an additional air source for the main burn.

You may want to add a thin layer of wicking material inside the primer cup. In really cold weather it will be much easier to light.

I thought about dropping a 1" square pad through the center to see how well it works. The biggest problem is that I live in Southern California (today - high of 68 F , low of 39 F). I do not have a good testing grounds to evaluate this concept. Please feel free to try out this idea and report back to all of us.

Less of a knack, more like an addiction. You guys never see the failures.

Maybe the Administrator should add a new section called "my dumbest idea" or "my biggest failure". Then again, it could be the most active topic  .

Tell us the feeling you got the first time you compressed the bottle into itself :D

I think I probably did the same thing a few days before that one (I did mine in an attempt at a vortex idea) Same day as that last post of mine on that thread. It's really not hard to do - I used a 3lb hammer to start the "fold" with a tubing "mandrel" made from an old air cylinder body. My idea was to fold the neck to the bottom of the bottle. I was going to cut vertical slits in the outside wall and the inside wall - slightly offset from each other to increase the tangential path length of the airflow - below the level of the wick. I did one witha Bud bottle and one with a Venom bottle. But I couldn't get the inner wall to close up next to the outer wall the way I wanted it to.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.
