Stove buckles

Ok I'm sure there is something I am doing wrong or something I am not doing but why is it when I am finished with my stove and all I need to do it to push the pieces together that my stove buckles or folds inward making a crease in the wall? This of course ruins the piece which does this because once it folds like that it will always do so and will eventually tear open. Anyone got some tips for me or anything? Oh, this is my first post on bplite as well.

Have you tried lubricating the two pieces before compressing them? Make sure you get the 2 lined up evenly, place a flat piece of wood or steel on top of them and then compress.

What has been your procedure before compressing? How tall are your 2 pieces?

I suppose I typically stay somewhere around 4-5cm for my top and 4-4.5 cm for my bottom. I try to make sure to keep everything stays even but for some reason I still constantly have one side that will buckle and it will start to do it before they are halfway together. I've never tried lubricating them though. Does it matter what I use to lubricate it with? That's not my only problem but I figured I would start with this because if I cant fix this then the rest doesn't matter as much but I can not get any pressurized stove I've made to work as it should. Even pressure is the key. Sometimes I cut vertical slits around it and one of the pop can stove called for using a paper punch at the bottom of your slits.

You can use vegetable oil, olive oil etc. WD-40.

How you coming along on this project now?

Well better since the vegetable oil worked well. I'm still having problems getting a pressurized stove to work though. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong and every video on youtube is mostly people testing and using pressurized stoves and not building. The only ones I found being built either didn't give info or were for coil stoves. I just have no idea why it's not working. It won't even fire up. I use a priming pan or a wick on the outside and sometime they will seem like they are going to fire up but never do. Gotta be something I'm forgetting to do that I dont know about or something I'm not doing correctly.
