Its a "trangia style" alcohol stove I built out of a small Monster Energy drink can.

Can you post a pic of the stove only? I'm just curious, is that Magic Stove ring made out of stainless or tin. I've never seen one in person

Thanks,

Did the trangia type behave well in that enclosed environment of did go radical after a while?

and the pot stand is just as you guessed. Its a magic pot stand I found in the scrap metal bin here at work. I used two short lengths of coat hanger to make a "grate" that sits on top of the stang just to hold the pot slightly higher. The stand also fits snug inside the stanley pot.

The Stanley camp pot set: (I threw the plastic cups into the knick-knack bin in my garage...)

Strangely, this is the same DIY stove I used on my Swiss Volcano stove where it went radical. With this set up, it stayed consistent and didn't go radical.

Was the diameter of the Volcano pot larger?

No. The volcano pot is smaller.
