FBC has book(s)
FBC has book(s)
I got the first book.
I was looking around for an "official" cozy, and, I happened to visit http://www.trailcooking.com and look around.
There is more than the one original book:
Freezer Bag Cooking: Trail Food Made Simple.
In addition, there are now:
Trail Cooking: Trail Food Made Gourmet
Trail Eats
Not only that, the new books are available as print books, or, as digital editions. http://www.trailcooking.com/store/bookstore/
Is that great, or what!
There is even an Oatmeal On the Go digital edition, plus something called at home cookbooks.
Our favorite FBC lady has been busy, busy, busy. Sarah Kirkconnell needs to be making more cozies: a black one please.

Re: FBC has book(s)
Connie, do you still have the Cone and Kmart grease pot set-up or did they abscond with it also?

Re: FBC has book(s)
The Cone and Grease lot are gone with everything else. The only reason I have anything at all is that I had two storage rentals here.
I also have one smaller storage rental elsewhere. Not much there, however. The one remaining storage rental here was apparently unknown to thieves until days or hours before I got there.
There are some individual items missing, for example, tent poles for my older North Face "Comet" I believe that is the model with two side entries. It was an amazing new design concept when it came out. It is too much for backpacking, as far as I am concerned, but a great tent complete with rain fly and "footprint".
I know The North Face has been famous for it's repair shop. I am speaking of the Berkeley, CA Sierra Designs repaur shop, possibly. At any rate, I am uncertain of the model name. I wish I could have tent poles for that tent, again.
After all these years, that beautiful tent is in excellent condition. Just don't pitch your tent under a pitch pine tree. I did. They even told me how to clean that one spot. I don't want to go thru that again. Fortunately, I saw the pitch and I moved my tent.
Remember the huge and beautiful Mariposa? I got inside the Mariposa tent in a display at the store in Berkeley, CA. Is that Sierra Designs or The North Face near the Ashby St. freeway exit?
What a great era for tents! So much beauty!
You know... I was only hoping Sarah Kirkconnell would finish her second book. And, here we are with a feast if books from Sarah.

Re: FBC has book(s)
I sent out a package today and will send out a replacement for the cone and grease pot. We need to get you back into being ready for the spring rush. You're close to the Canadian border....maybe you can swing up into BC and visit with the stove maker up there. You like kayaking also, right? Make plans for a spring to catch some of the trout that come in from the ocean. Get your gear ready....get the new FBC book and start practicing some gourmet meals.
I got some wood burners to send you also.

Re: FBC has book(s)
He would make a good catch, the sea-going trout, I mean, of course.
I would need a passport.
So.. Who is going to spring first to purchase the originator's of FBC Freezer Bag Cooking second edition and sequel to her FBC Freezer Bag Cooking first edition!
I am tempted, right now. I am holding off a bit, while I do some shopping for next year's gear. I want to be ready for the early hiking season. I will start purchasing special food last. I will need Sarah Kirkconnell's FBC Freezer Bag Cooking books to guide my selections.

Re: FBC has book(s)
Her first book was sufficient for my simple needs. I like to make up my FB meals using Mountain House products purchased in bulk number 10 cans. That's the least expensive way to go for me. I gave up on doing my own dehydrating.

Re: FBC has book(s)
I ordered two of her new-to-me books: in digital format.
I see her website offers an autographed copy.
Do you think I can get a digital autograph?
